What About the Money
Unfortunately, money is a key issue in care. Current demand exceeds resource and as a result, those who are reliant on state funding may not be able to access the care services they require and more people are required to self fund part or all of their care needs.
For those who are paying for their own care, the cost can be significant and can create real concerns about how long they can fund their fees, how this will impact on their estate and what happens if their money runs out.
The need for specialist advice is essential and The Care Advice Line is able to introduce those who need regulated advice, with members of The Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA). Each individual has achieved a highly demanding accreditation and we are able to assist individuals in engaging advisers who in addition to meeting the required standard are best placed to provide the assistance that is needed.
This will include guidance on selecting advisers who:
-
Are independent rather than restricted
-
Charge fixed fees rather than make a charge which is contingent on selling a product (commission)
-
Offer an inital consultation without charge or obligation
-
Are best suited to advice on the needs of the individual
