Information and Advice

The Care Advice Line provides a free financial information and advice service for adults and carers living in Gloucestershire with care or support needs.

 

Our aim is to help you to make informed decisions about your care and support needs and how you pay for it.

 

We provide personalised information and advice, plus guidance on legal and financial considerations, and where appropriate we will help you to access professional advice.

 

This service is commissioned by Gloucestershire County Council.

 

Our service offers help and assistance on:

 

  • Negotiating the care system

  • Benefit entitlement

  • State support

  • Paying care fees

  • NHS funding

  • Legal issues

  • Securing care

  • Managing assets

 

 

Who is the service for?

 

  • Individuals with a current care need

  • Individuals concerned about a future care need

  • Carers looking after a family member or friend

 

 

What kind of questions can we answer?

 

  • What type of care support is available?

  • Am I eligible for any state funded support?

  • Do I have to sell my house to pay for my care?

  • How can I set up  a Power of Attorney?

 

 

How is the service provided?

 

Our service is provided by telephone so that we can deal with each individual’s circumstances and requirements. 

 

Calls to our helpline will be answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and your contact details will be taken. Our helpline team deal with enquiries in the order they are received and we aim to respond to all enquiries within 5 working days (this could be longer during busy periods or bank holidays).

 

Telephone calls may be recorded for quality and monitoring purposes.

 

The Care Advice Line service is funded by Gloucestershire County Council who may require us to share your data with them to assist with any audits, issues or complaints.

 

This free service is available to people with care and support need who live in Gloucestershire or are supported by Gloucestershire County Council to live outside of the county.
